Microsoft Outlook Express email account setup

Please note that we need to setup the email account initially on the mail server before the following steps can take place.

Mircosoft Outlook 2003 email account setup is fairly straight forward if you do not have an existing POP 3 email account setup.

If you already have an existing Microsoft Outlook Express email account, then you would follow the same steps listed to add the new one.

Email account setup instructions

Open Microsoft Outlook Express from the Mircosoft Windows Start Menu, go to the Tools menu and then select Accounts.

On the Internet Accounts window, go to the Add Menu and then select Mail to setup your email account.

On the Internet Connection Wizard window, enter the display name that you want people to see and click Next to proceed to the next step.

On the Internet Connection Wizard window, enter the email address that you want people to see and click Next to proceed to the next step.

On the Internet Connection Wizard window, enter the incoming mail server followed by the outgoing mail server and click Next to proceed to the next step.

On the Internet Connection Wizard window, enter your account name (same as your email address) followed by the password and click Next to proceed.

On the Internet Connection Wizard window, click Finish to complete your email setup.

On the Internet Connection Wizard window, enter the following details:


	User Information
	Your Name:	Your Name
	Email Address:	[email protected]

	Server Information
	Incoming mail server (POP3):	mail.yourdomain.com
	Outgoing mail server (SMTP):	mail.optusnet.com.au*
		* Your Internet Service Provider's mail server. The example used is for OptusNet.

	Logon Information
	User Name:	[email protected]
	Password:	• • • •

Default email account setup instructions

	Open Microsoft Outlook Express from the Mircosoft Windows Start Menu.


	Go to the Tools menu and then select Accounts.


	On the Internet Accounts window, select your Account and then select Set as Default to make your email account the default one.
